Project Description

Chesed is operated by Bnei Akiva in Israel and is aimed at Zinman school (Dimona) students.

Every year our students that come on our experiential gap year program in Israel from South Africa, Australia and New Zealand head down to Dimona (southern Israel) as part of their volunteering period, to teach and spend time with the kids in the Zinman Middle School; a school for youth at risk.

The teaching and time spent together forms relationships between two different cultures and people that otherwise would have likely never have met.

The benefits for the gap year students is to learn that they have a lot to give here in Israel and to Israeli society. The benefit for the Zinman students is they get to learn and meet role models and future friends that show interest in them and their future.
